Zhai Xuewei, male, born in Nanjing in 1960. He began to study sociology in 1986 when he entered the graduate program of the Sociology Department at Nankai University. He joined the Sociology Department of Nanjing University in 1988 and obtained a Master's degree in law and a Ph.D. in history. He is currently a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Sociology, Nanjing University; he was selected as a Changjiang Scholar, the Distinguished Professor of the Ministry of Education from 2015 to 2020; he is currently a member of the discipline review panel of the State Council; and he enjoys the special government allowance. He has been committed to the sociology indigenous research for a long time. He has twice served as the principal investigator of the National Social Science Fund Major Project. His works have been selected for the Chinese Foreign Translation Project several times, and they are currently available in English, Japanese, and Arabic, as well as in traditional Chinese in Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan of China.
