Master of Social Sciences at Hong Kong Shue Yan University

Please note that the University has announced that studentships will be offered to outstanding students in the Master of Social Sciences (Transformation of Chinese Societies) program. The amount of the studentship can be up to HKD60,000, payable in six monthly installments.
 
1. the applicant must be enrolled as a F/T student;
2. you or other instructors in your programme have an ongoing research project for which the prospective student may be employed as an RA;
3. the prospective student's final project/thesis/dissertation etc. may be part of your ongoing research project.

Master of Social Sciences (Transformation of Chinese Societies) at Hong Kong Shue Yan University is now open for applications. This program has been designed for those:
- who are community workers, cultural workers, or work in the tourism industry,
- who are educators teaching liberal studies,
- who work in the civil service, or in China-related businesses,
- who wish to pursue research studies in China Studies, Asian Studies, Sociology, Anthropology, Cultural Studies, etc.
 
An study tour to Taiwan is a special feature of this program, and is designed to facilitate students' understanding of the diversity of Chinese societies, especially the various ways of building communities and heritage.
 
This year, the following scholarships are available to postgraduate programmes’ students:
1.     Studentship
The amount of the studentship can be up to HKD60,000, payable in six monthly installments. The applicant must be enrolled as a F/T student; you or other instructors in your programme have an ongoing research project for which the prospective student may be employed as an RA; the prospective student's final project/thesis/dissertation etc. may be part of your ongoing research project.
2. Postgraduate Research Scholarship
The “Postgraduate Research Scholarship” aims to attract students with strong academic backgrounds who have an avid interest in refining their research skills. Each year, a total of 15 scholarships @HKD20,000 will be allocated to this category. Awardees are expected to commit 200 hours to research activities as assigned by the Programme Director during their period of study at HKSYU.
3. Fellowship for Postgraduate Studies
The “Fellowship for Postgraduate Studies” aims to support outstanding final year undergraduate students in HKSYU to pursue postgraduate studies. Those successfully admitted into local full-time postgraduate programmes may be considered for this category. Each year, 10 scholarships@HKD10,000 will be allocated to this category.
